Typography

Inspirational Typography

These are some spreads we designed for a new book featuring artworks by local designers in the area. We were required to present three inspirational lines with typography used to showcase their meaning.

All the photography, computer editing and creative ideas were by Monkey Wing Designs.

Clouds‘We don’t have wings but we can all fly’

Grass‘If the grass is greener on the other side, water your own damn grass’

Rain‘It never rains by it pours’

PHOTOS OF THE BOOK

“What follows is a series of typographic explorations by a group of designers, artists, photographers and typographers from the Northern Rivers area of NSW.

These pieces were inspired by Austrian designer Stefan Sagmeister’s series of “Things I have Learned In My Life So Far”.

Each artist wrote a journal for several weeks and then made visual treatments of the three words or phrases that had the most meaning for them. We hope you enjoy the results.”

Great work Roxy. These designs are so strong with the use of one main colour and theme per piece it really bring the idea forward rather than cluttering it. I love the grass one, the quote is great, the design is simple but powerful.
